DWTS Disney Night Results: Julia Stiles Eliminated as Two Couples Tie at the Top
This season’s Disney Night delivered three perfect scores, a surprise tiebreak and an emotional goodbye. After a night of solo routines and team dances inspired by Disney’s Broadway hits, actress Julia Stiles and her partner Ezra Sosa became the latest couple to leave the ballroom. Searches for the DWTS elimination tonight spiked as the results came in. Here are the full Dancing with the Stars results from Disney Night, how the scoring played out, and what it means for the rest of Season 35.
Who Went Home
Elimination came down to a blend of judges’ marks and viewer votes, and the pair with the weakest total had to leave. Stiles and Sosa found themselves in the bottom two alongside Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas, and in the end, Stiles was sent home, according to Gold Derby’s recap.
Stiles, known for films such as Save the Last Dance and 10 Things I Hate About You, had been one of the season’s most talked-about contestants. Her exit leaves seven couples in the competition.
How the Night Worked
Eight couples took part in the special Monday broadcast. Each performed a solo routine set to music from Disney on Broadway shows, then joined forces for two team dances, a format the show brought back for this episode. Tony and Grammy winner Cynthia Erivo joined the panel as a guest judge, sitting beside Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough.
The night opened with a Broadway-inspired group number, and Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn was the first celebrity to perform.
The Final Leaderboard
Combining the solo and team scores, the top of the table finished like this, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s breakdown:
- Joint first, 80 out of 80: Jenna Dewan with Val Chmerkovskiy, and Harry Shum Jr. partnered by Jenna Johnson
- Third, 77 out of 80: Paralympian Ezra Frech with Daniella Karagach
- Fourth, 72 out of 80: Connor Wood with Rylee Arnold
- Fifth, 70 out of 80: Amber Glenn with Pasha Pashkov
Stiles and Sosa finished with 69 out of 80 after scoring 33 out of 40 for their solo routine.
The immunity tiebreak
With two couples level on 80, producers turned to the season’s cumulative scores to decide which pair would skip next week’s dance-off. Shum and Johnson held a one-point edge, 236 to Dewan and Chmerkovskiy’s 235, so they are safe next week. Shum and Johnson have now earned perfect 40s in back-to-back weeks.
A Season of Shocks
Disney Night followed a dramatic Horror Movie Night the week before, when the show held a double elimination that sent home Jackson Olson and Tyler Cameron. With the field shrinking quickly, every remaining couple now faces real pressure.
What to watch next week
The show returns to its regular Tuesday slot next week. Look for:
- The dance-off, where couples without immunity will need to fight for their place.
- Ezra Frech’s push for the top, as he aims to become the show’s first amputee champion.
- Maura Higgins’ response, after narrowly surviving the bottom two.
